Description from the New Museum website: Seven on Seven (7×7), the iconic art and technology program from Rhizome, the New Museum’s digital affiliate, is back! Founded in 2010, 7×7 pairs leading artists with visionary technologists and tasks them with a simple challenge: make something new. The results of each pair’s collaboration will be presented as a public, experiential conference in the New Museum Theater.
Presented by Hyundai Motor, the 2024 edition will focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and is co-organized by Michael Connor, Co-Executive Director of Rhizome, and Xinran Yuan, independent curator and producer. The first in-person edition held since 2019, 7×7 2024 draws together creative pairings from across disciplines. The collaborators will consider how AI may alter our understanding of qualities such as love, humor, and improvisation; biology, politics, and histories.
